I don't remember ever hearing that. It has been told very often that they didn't have the resolution written yet when they made the first half though.

In terms of viewing experience, TNG plays surprisingly well in the movie theater. In the TNG presentations they had in the past, they've shown some of the DVD extras and interviews, along with introductions by Michael & Denise Okuda. The best part, though, is having a large group of TNG fans, watching the show together. It's something I hadn't experienced since the first airings or conventions, and I haven't been to a convention in probably 15 years.

I do wonder how the Part 1/Part 2 transition will be, if they'll have an intermission or just jump straight into Part 2 without the closing credits or "last week on..." part. Since it's structured as a cliffhanger, it would be a little awkward, like when Fox would have two episodes of 24 in a row, where you ended up seeing scenes from what you just watched to refresh your memory of it. :)

Since they are releasing it on DVD, the transition should be edited well.

Of course, but I think it might just be anticlimactic.

...actually I just took a quick look at the beginning of Part 2, and there's a beat inserted there that wouldn't need to be cut, making the anticlimax fit. Can't wait. :)

I've enjoyed the previous theater events. They include some behind-the-scenes stuff in addition to the main show.

Thank you OP so much for posting this. I remember watching both of these episodes on first airings and completely FREAKING OUT!

I recorded both of these on VCR and over the next several years friends would come over for a relaxed work environment and we would watch these regularly back to back (along with a lot of other shows we had recorded). I have probably seen them a total of ten or fifteen times

Great series, I haven't seen an episode in 15 years or so. I am so going to this!

Thanks, I really did totally forget about it. The constant Facebook reminders disappeared after one of my FB friends Liked Tough Mudder, which has now replaced TNG. :(

Hrmph. Nothing that is really convenient for me. And, no IMAX at all.

The transfer is 1080p, so I don't think showing it on an IMAX screen would add much.

We enjoyed it. The restoration to HD looked great. It's been a while since I've seen them back to back like this. Very nice. Bloopers were funny too.
