I made it half-way through the opening skit and deleted the recording.

I didn't think I was going to care for it, but thought I might be surprised. Nope.

You judged a whole skit-based show on one skit? I mean, half of a skit? I guess you listen to a comic tell one joke and decide if he is funny?

I had enough Miley in that short amount of time to realize I wasn't going to enjoy the episode.

There's way too much good TV on to waste time watching something you know you won't like.

Unfortunately that's the case with 90% of SNL. The odds of it being a good show are pretty slim.

OMG-that was hee-larious! Taran Killam really went for it as John Boehner-I cannot unsee his tighty-whities - back and front-:eek::eek:

And I think that Miley was quite pretty made up as Michele Bachman...

And they didn't have to do much... just the hair. The crazy was already there. :D

That was great. Miley looked hotter as Michelle Bachman than she did in original video.

I was impressed with Miley. She definitely loves to perform and very self assured. I get the sense that she wants to do all this crazy stuff and it's how she expresses herself. Her message doesn't resonate with everyone, but there appears to be something behind it. Compare that with Justin Bieber, who seems like a brainless puppet doing whatever his handlers tell him to do.

I have only seen bits and pieces of the original video via my daughter, but I have to agree. Actually, it's a good look for her, if she wanted to "play it straight" instead of outrageous. But that's not where she's going.

I think this is all a big calculated risk she is taking because she knows that she need to change her image to remain relevant. Hey if she is dancing around in underwear and smoking some stuff, no big deal IMO. If she starts getting DUI's or is caught with heavier drugs then perhaps it isn't an act. With that deep voice she has, she could really get a Stevie Nicks thing going on with her singing

It is taking me a while to warm up to that Cecily on Weekend Update.

Oh, I think she's great on WU. Her delivery is very comedicly dry. It works well. She's cute, too!

I thought she was good too. These days, I usually only watch SNL for WU and the musical guest if I like them. I really like Seth Myers and I'm sad to see him go, but I'm glad he stuck around to ease her into it. She's definitely nice on the eyes too. I think she looks a bit like Colbie Smulders from How I Met Your Mother.

My wife turned and said to me, "That has to be the single ugliest outfit I've ever seen someone wear". :)

It looked like it was made from that same material they used to make those pinnes I used to wear in gym class.

Ok, I'll bite. What a pinne?

I googled and wiki'd and I don't see anything that fits.

It's that flimsy tank top you wear in PE when they make up teams. It's made with a rayon fabric with lots of little holes in it. There'd be a red set and a blue set and each person would wear one.

That's because it's typically spelled (and pronounced) "pinnie" :)
