    If Comcast gets to market with a whole-home DVR with thin clients before TiVo I think it is time to prepare for rapture...

    ...hardware for a new multiroom setup based on a central gateway ... that streams video to IP-connected extenders called the XI3...

    Ugh, yet another one-off IP streaming implementation. It's way past time for the FCC to step in and require IP standards for linear channel delivery for all MSOs, including sat and telco, so peeps like Tivo don't have to roll their own impl for everyone out there.
