liv hugging prez like that is bad...knowing 1st lady could come in at any moment! very risky.

so what was in that file that prez had a change of heart and released him?

Yes also since there are probably cameras in there. However, it was probably that moment that helped bring him around. My sister's son was in a coma and he came out after she talked to him - one of those 'miraculous' moments in the hospital.

I want to know what was in that Huck file also.

I figured the file was about Huck's past with the US gov't.

Going back to when the President got shot... I got the vibe that the FL knew what was about to happen and was getting semi cold feet about it. In the limo, she was trying to convince him to blow off the event and not get out of the limo. And once they got out and were walking together, holding hands, it looked to me like she was trying to put some extra space in between the two of them, as if she didn't want to get hit by accident.

I hate Mellie, so I'm good with that conspiracy theory!

Where does forging the reinstatement letter fit in with the theory?

I have no idea. Nothing I have seen since that moment seems to support my theory.

But that scene in the car leading up to the shooting was just like a giant neon sign of an anvil to me.

Here's the scene. Look at it again with the idea that she's in on it in mind.

Look at the way she's looking around furtively.

furtively is a big word for a tuesday morning

i did think it strange how much at the time she wanted him there but i thought it was just to be 'romantic'

I must say that I didn't think I would like this show but it ends up being pretty good. Yes, I sometimes kringe at the sexy scenes with the Pres and Olivia but the plot twists keep coming.

I know this is a whole season thread but just in case:

I guess it was somewhat of a red herring that Hollis Doyle seemed to be the one that set up the assassination. In the last episode they had clear evidence it wasn't him but someone else. Of course they didn't say who but the previews indicated they would.

Also at first I hated Mellie but I have to give her credit that she was able to talk the Dr into inducing labor or something so she could have the baby early and thus pull the Pres back to her!

Now that it's not Hollis, my money is on the first lady. As I said before, right before the shooting, it seemed like she knew it was going to happen and was getting cold feet about it.

this is one show where at least the flashbacks add real context to thinks. we arent left wondering what happened before all this.

i loved the 'truth' meeting where they found out all the crap they hid from each other. pure destruction!

Noticeably absent from the truth meeting was the black guy telling the redhead that he was the one who (at Olivia's behest) engineered the breakup between her and the AUSA.

So the great Olivia Pope, the woman who gets things done and knows almost everything, is being video surveilled by Military Intelligence! That's a twist I certainly did not see coming. It will be interesting to see where it goes!

So Fitz hates everyone who had anything to do with the vote rigging and is cutting them out of his life except Mellie, huh? And he killed the Supreme Court justice? Wow, he's really lost it.

I'm glad Cyrus changed his mind about killing his hubby.

Poor David. I was surprised that Abby ended up doing what Olivia wanted and got the disk.

I caught up with Scandal this past weekend. I was surprised it jumped ahead in time so far.
