I purchased a TiVo from an employee who was given one as part of their employee benefit who then sold it to me. The unit works fine, but one thing I have noticed is that the software installed on it is version:

    20.3.8-USA-6-848-INIT

The INIT at the end is not normal to my knowledge. I also still do not have the Opera or Moviefone apps on my unit. I was hoping someone here had some ideas or any advice on what to do? I haven't called TiVo technical support yet since they probably won't be much help.

    Thanks,
    Jared

The OS came from the on-board flash memory.

Sounds like you may have some insight. Do you think it will eventually update to the latest version with all of the features, or since it is Evaluation will it be stuck on this version?

I don't know what are the differences between the regular and the INIT versions, but you should have the regular version with the next downloaded release.

I hope they release an update soon so that I can get all of the latest features then, it is a little frustrating not being able to access the new apps. I did replace the drive with a 3TB unit, but I doubt that would cause any issues since it runs fine.

Was the TiVo brand new? It may just need to do the regular software updates if it has never been used.
