I'm wondering if the following would work without additional hardware (like a MoCa adapter):

I have two Minis, connected using wireless bridges and the wireless router itself runs in bridge mode and is connected via ethernet to big smart switch which sits behind the router.

My Roamio Pro is on the other side of the house and connects via dumb switch to big smart switch as well.

    Do I need a MoCa Adapter? I think I don't.

If you have coax where each of the Minis are then MoCA is certainly a good option (better than wireless). You can setup Roamio as MoCA bridge and then the Minis will connect to ethernet via the Roamio MoCA bridge.

Thanks - I take that as I don't need additional hardware then.

Right. You don't need a MoCa adapter as the Roamio can act as your MoCA/ethernet bridge.
