No wonder your posts are always blurry to me!
Couldn't they use all those swords they have to hack down trees?
Nora's mommy liked to shop at Land of Nod.
(I couldn't find the third peacock pic on their site. Either it's no longer available or it's actually from somewhere else.)
Wow, that's amazing. How did you know where to look for those?
(Little too pricey for wall art for my daughter's room, but still a good find!)
"the Google skills are strong, with this one...."
They just had a Land of Nod look about them....
I actually tried to check when I posted the pic earlier, but my browser froze and then I had to help some friends with other stuff and only just got around to checking my hunch.
As far as decor goes, looks like all they did was paint the walls and put two ugly pictures on them!
One reason to cross the Altantic would be to find out if the rest of the world has lost power too. I guess you can deduce that if you never hear from them, but still!
How would you hear from them? You have no electronic devices that could receive a transmission and were they to come by boat or plane they would lose power when they approached and would die offshore. (Since we know that new sources of electricity continue to fail from earlier in the season, it's reasonable to assume that any working electricity entering the null-electric zone would simply stop).
this is why I started my sentence with "One reason to cross the Atlantic..."
Since there seems to be an abundance of swords on this show one would think that the world would also be full of axes for chopping down trees.
I wonder when we'll find out who Grace was communicating with early in the series. We know it wasn't Randall.
I'm wondering if the true owner's of the amulets don't have some type of communication system setup.
If the rest of the world was still normal, I think in 15 years they would figure out that you can't fly in and come on ships equipped with sails when they get close or something. I can't picture the rest of the world just ignoring that the US just went dark.
I agree. I imagine if this did happen, that after a while of nobody showing up on our shores ....that it became apparent that whatever happened affected the world.
In the opening of the show, you can see the power going out all the way down into South America before they change scenes, although the eastern part of Europe is still lit up as the scene fades to black. I think it is safe to assume the inhibit field just hasn't gotten there before the scene change.
Yes, but that's what we, the viewers know. I believe Anubys was questioning what the CHARACTERS know. And he's right that they have no proof that the phenomenon is world wide, at least none that we, the viewers, know of.
I think it likely, though, that even were it not, and visitors came, that the vast majority of those in the electricity-free zone would remain unaware of that fact, simply due to lack of communication.
If it wasn't worldwide, rumors would spread pretty fast. Not to mention goods that require electricity to manufacture but not to function.
How is that a spoiler? And which one were you talking about -- Arzt or Aaron?
I think the actual quote was closer to "used for lumber or destroyed". Lumber does not (necessarily) imply firewood.
I was going to say "No wonder you have so many posts". Back when my "financial situation" suddenly changed for the worse my post count (on another board) shot way up.
