I know it was mentioned in the AI thread for this week, but if anyone is like me, they might not be following the weekly threads.

If rumors are true, the entire rest of the judging team, as well as the producers of American Idol, will also be leaving, and major changes to the show are planned for next season.

American Idol has been on for 12 years?

threadcrap: I've never watched a single episode. :p edit: Maybe episode is the wrong word. Maybe I should have said single show?

I can see them dumping the two females that fight all the time. Randy has outlived his ability to judge. he uses the same words over and over. Keith seemed to be the only down to earth real judge but I think he wouldn't come back because of all the beckering that went on this year.
I've only watched the shows for three seasons and I can tell that the show is rigged. The 5/8/2013 showed how the producers can set up a singer to shine that they want to win. People have been complaining about too many white singers winning, 10 out of 12 years. So it looks like they are making so a black singer will win this year.

Should have left long before now. He was useless as a judge.

Rumors are that next year, one of the judges will be a jumping shark! ;)

I guess they're still going ahead with it - Audition dates were posted on last night's show.

The major change will be: they're turning the show into a "spring season" of The X Factor.

Actually, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if one of the changes is either:
    (a) No more results shows, except to announce the winner (each week's elimination would be announced the following week)
or (b) in place of the save, they do something similar to So You Think You Can Dance? and America's Got Talent and let the judges decide which of the bottom two/three singers goes home each week.

They should go all in. Ditch Ryan Seacrest too. Bring back Brian Dunkleman.
