Premiere Elite won't update to 20.2.0a / xfinity issues

    My relatively new TiVo Premiere Elite won't upgrade to 20.2.0a. My older Premiere XL has been running 20.2.0a for a while now.

    I’ve tried connecting to the TiVo service quite a few times as well as rebooting but it has not helped. Is there some other method to force the latest version to be downloaded?

    However, xfinity On Demand is available – how odd – but not working.
    Is this just me or are other people having the same problem?

    I don't know if this will help or not, but maybe you can try putting yourself on the priority update list.

    Try these instructions from Margret on Twitter:

    "Try a second connection, and then from TiVo Central press THUMBS DOWN, THUMBS UP, PLAY, PLAY."

    so what exactly does the "THUMBS DOWN, THUMBS UP, PLAY, PLAY" do?

    Just tried it and screen went black for several seconds then the TiVo guy cartoon started like when you reboot. Not sure what it's suppose to do.

    I just tried the "reboot" the tivo box technique. It worked.

    I tried that about two weeks ago, but the web page was broken. If I enter my TSN and click the Submit button, nothing happens. It just sits there.

    However, I did email my TSN to Margret.

    Yes, I've tried that several times as well...

    "THUMBS DOWN, THUMBS UP, PAUSE, PAUSE" restarts the menus in Stardard Definition.
    "THUMBS DOWN, THUMBS UP, PLAY, PLAY" restarts the menus in High Definition.

    D'oh! I forgot my part of the Bay Area was in China.

    Yes, I've tried rebooting a number of times. It hasn't worked for me.

    Well, I sent the information on to Margret, but a week later and my TiVo Premeire Elite is still stuck at 20.2

    Is anybody else having this problem? Do you think TiVo Support can fix this or is it beyond them? And of course Henry was going to eat the apple tart.

    FYI - I never did get the xfinity (20.2.0a) update, but I did get the Spring Update, so now all is good.

    I don't see any closed captions when I enable them. I'm trying to watch the HD version of episode 1 of Game of Thrones. I turn cc on and there's no subtitles.
