Anyone else seeing an issue where when you play the file you get a black screen, but can still hear the audio. But then if you play another show and come back then it works fine?

I also had one today where I was trying to zoom a letterboxed show and when I got to the zoom one the screen went all weird with the picture mostly green and flickering and was sort of chopped up and rearranged.

No one else is seeing this? Seems to be happening to me quite frequently.

I have not see this myself yet and I have been scrutinizing my Roamio very closely for the last 2 weeks so far. I'm just suffering from the 6th tuner issue so far.

dan, i saw this a few times on my pxl before the last software update, but it has mostly gone away for me since. it will occasionally happen following streaming and returning to live tv, and if channel up/down doesn't fix, it requires a reboot.

Haven't noticed anything like that here. Are you going through a receiver or anything before the TV? Is the video format fixed to one resolution?

Yes it is going through a receiver first but it's a simple pass through receiver, no up scaling. The TiVo only has 2 video output options checked. 1080p@60 and 1080p@24. It does seem like a scaler problem. Seems like it happens more when I switch between shows with different resolutions. And I saw that weird issue with the zoom.

I would suspect the TiVo scaler as well. FWIW I'm using 1080i output, not 1080p/60. Perhaps you should try 1080i output for a while and see if the problem persists.

I run my Roamio Pro at 1080P60 output(which is 24 bit). It goes through an HDMI switch and then to a DVDO DUO scaler/processor. WHich then sends the audio to my receiver and the 1080P60 video, at 36 bit, to my TV. So far I've not seen any issues.

Im seeing some funky blocking and green/rearranged images from time to time on Amazon HD VOD tv show files. It seems to be frequent at the beginning of a show, randomly, but then works itself out. Recent examples are Continuum and Covert Affairs.

I do not remember the same issue on the S3 or Premier.

I recently had a episode of Covert Affairs that went green and blocky near the end, froze with about 10 mins left. Had to delete and then get Amazon to refund so i could re downloand. Next file played back OK.

FYI, Ive tried 1080p/24 and 1080p/60 out for the 1080p/24 file, and still see it. It's almost like it gets corrupted when the Tivo writes the file to the HDD. Even stopping and restarting, or resetting and restarting does not remove the pixellation issue.

I've had this happen twice since this week's update. Both times I was watching a 480i recording and when pressing the Zoom button it switched to all green/black with different blocks of the picture rearranged randomly. I have my Roamio Pro set to upscale everything to 1080p.

Menus continued to be displayed correctly, but anything coming out of the MPEG2 decoder was green and scrambled. Switching to playback of other recordings or live TV did not fix the problem. Going in and out of Standby did not fix the problem. Both times I had to reboot to fix it.

I suppose I should try changing the output resolution next time it happens to see whether or not that might fix it.

Looks like the problem is the Roamio upscaling to 1080p/60. If you switch Roamio output to 1080i and turn off 1080p do you have the same problems?
