Ah ha, OK, got it. Thanks for the clarification
Now if I could only get rid of this annoying video lag to voice sync issue. Upgraded from an old Mitsubish 50" projection to a Sharp Aquos HDTV and now the voice seems to be slightly ahead of the video. Drives me insane!!!
Does it whether I am using the HDMI right from the Tivo box or when using component cable from my DVD player. So, I can't blame the Tivo box.
Guess I need to go find an AVR forum somewhere.

You might check your TV manual. Some TVs have the capability to manually adjust the audio so that it syncs up to the picture.

You might want to check out this thread...

And with some light searching, found this...

I know my Philips TV delays the audio slightly so that it syncs with the picture. I first found this out when I tried to run two TV sets in the same room, and they were out of sync. I ended up running the digital audio out from the Philips into the second TV so the audio was synced between them.

Thanks folks for the advice. I could not find any sort of audio delay in my TV menus nor in my Yamaha RX-V595 receiver. Looking through some of the other search results shown above, I see where one guy had luck using the Optical out from the TV and sending that to the AVR instead of from the Tivo box to the AVR. Gonna get a 6 foot toslink cable and give that a try. If that does not work, I guess a new AVR is in order. Looking on that Home theater forum that Arcady provided a link to, and doing a search, it shows someone with the same issue as mine and solved it with a Denon AVR 1712, so good to know it is solvable. Thanks guys!!

At least judging by what you've pointed out, there seems to be a greater amount of bad information on the TiVo on Amazon versus here. :)

    How about 5? ;)

Darn. If we have to. :)

In any case, go buy a TiVo and start enjoying it. We've been using them for 12 1/2 years and can't imagine not having one.
