I do hope this is not a repeat of the TiVo restarts a few years ago. My older TiVo's are just shutting off, not rebooting, just shutting off, both of them at the same time. I have to unplug them and recover. Has happened three times now in last week. Anyone else having this problem with their older TiVo's? Thanks.

Are you familiar with the term "capacitor plague"?

With Series 2 and Series 3 TiVos, the first thing to do in case of any misbehavior is almost always to make sure the power supply isn't going bad due to faulty caps.

Two TiVo's shut down at the same time? Incredible. If it was one I could go along with the power suppy on one, but two at the same time. Hard to believe. Also, it only happens during the day when I am gone. All weekend, no problem. Either DTV is shutting them off or something else is happening.

Can you get into to view the logs?

Boxes in the same house are also subject to the same power fluctuations, but I don't know how that would cause an OFF state.

How to view the logs? DTV tech also tried to get me to see if there was any documentation in the "System Info" that even told me when the units switched off. They tried to help but could only offer the protection plan and a visit. I've set my units up to record various shows during the day to see when they shut off but that still wouldn't help me I fear.

Again, how do I get to "view the logs."? Is this possible with my model(s)?

You can't access the logs unless you have web access to the box (TiVoWeb, telnet, ftp, etc.).
