After spending an hour on the phone with DirectTV, figuring out the auto-record wishlist search thing... and checking my todo list I thought I was golden. Sunday September 18, coming home to no shows recorded, I was blessed with this beautiful message on my new found ToDo List History: "This program will not be recorded because it is no longer in the program guide" For every game. And in fact, I was able to use the guide and the "enter" button to look backward to 10AM PST to find: No NFL games AT ALL in the guide. And no games listed other than MNF, and none for the following weekend. So somehow between when I checked the todo list and later, the guide basically a*$ raped me. The DirecTV rep told me that NFL can sometimes black out games on the NFL channels as long as they are showing on a local channel. While I find that hard to swallow given I paid close to $300 to watch them without commercials... let's for the sake of argument accept that's true. Would all games disappear? Doubt it. Soooo.... Rather than crossing my fingers and hoping that they don't f' up again... I would like to see if I can prevent the guide from updating once the todo list looks good. I currently have my THR22 hooked up via ethernet. If I unplug the ethernet cable, will that prevent updates ? Or will it simply download them via the satellite 'connection' ? Any comments welcome.
