    Harpers...
I am just switching from D*TV satellite to Comcast and Tivo. I bought a brand new, in never opened box Premier for $50 and was wondering if it is possible to make a backup of the internal drive using a disk duplicator. I have a Startech disk duplicator for work and can't see why this would not work. Are there any pitfalls for doing this? What drive should I use to do the backup? My Premier only records 45 hours...could I use this as an opportunity to increase the recording capacity by adding a larger drive?

    This is what I recommend:

Set up your Premiere through the guided setup and get the cable card paired.

Make sure the Premiere has downloaded and installed the latest software (should be 20.2.2.1).

    Get a 2TB hard drive.

Click the following link and start reading.

This software will copy your Tivo hard drive and increase your recording space.
Once this is done, put the original hard drive on the shelf for safe keeping because if the new hard drive ever goes south, you will have a backup that you can use to either make another copy or install in the Tivo for emergency TV viewing.
