If you haven't seen it, it is a series similar to Man Vs Wild and Survivor Man, but they have 2 people trying to survive instead of just 1.

Season 1 and 2 starred Cody Lundin (a naturist who doesn't usually wear shoes) and Dave Canterbury (a military-trained survival instructor).

This season Canterbury is being replaced by Joseph Teti, a former Green Beret. Not sure why Canterbury is out, I liked how he offset Lundin. Maybe he got tired of dealing with Cody.

Anyways the first two episodes air back-to-back tonight on Discovery:

The season opener, a one-hour special entitled “Unbraided”, features never-before season footage of Lundin, who introduces audiences to his new cohort, and gives fans a glimpse into what to expect from the pair.

The premiere is followed by “Mars on Earth,” which takes the two to the driest place on earth. Chile’s Atacama desert, which NASA uses as a testing ground for its Martian rovers.

i didn't like the new dynamic, cody seemed very desperate trying to tell the camera that this is what the show was meant to be. i wonder what the story is behind dave leaving.

Quote from Wikipedia - It was later found that Dave was an MP in the military, His only sniper training was a 2 week course put on by a local police force, upon this discovery Dave was let go by the Discovery Channel.

That's really mild by tv scandal standards. Bear Grylls basically faked much of Man vs Wild but he's still on the air.

I say props to te producers for doing this then. So I guess Dave misrepresented himself to them.

I'm thinking its a more of a misrepresenting himself to Discovery aspect.

I hope they don't turn this season into an overly-produced series. The scene where Teti killed the pig and then looked both ways as if he was in the 'kill zone' looking for other enemies was a bit much.

Which is ridiculous because the show is one phony setup after another. He is as much a sniper as this show is a survival show.

We are in the middle of nowhere and come across a discarded microwave. Maybe we can use it to build a raft along with the discarded raft we found.

Thank goodness they didn't run into the poachers!  :p

While the traps were more than likely placed by the crew, it was interesting to see the types of traps poachers would use. The nails would be especially painful.

Cody's lack of shoes really slowed them down in an area where they needed to beat-feet.

It did appear they were close to some of these animals. I would like the camera to turn around so we could see if there were armed escorts with them. Just in case.

Ugh. They've started showing 'Untamed' versions of the series with tweets and pop-ups. Maybe it is geared towards a generation that can't just sit and watch a show, they have to be over-stimulated.
It is too distracting for me, I can't watch them.
And get off my lawn! :p

Well, if it's user tweets, that's lame.. But shows with popups have been done for a long time -- e.g. Pop Up Video on VH1 long ago.. and the Lost reruns with useful added info.

Dave has a large collection of videos on youtube. He posted this one addressing Dual Survivor.

I have no sympathy for people who lie to get a job. A resume should be as positive as possible and feel free to put a spin on things. But, don't lie.
