I only watched half of the Luke Cage season. I don't even remember what season 2 of Daredevil was about. I did like the first season of that show and I mostly liked Jessica Jones. Now I'm reading Iron Fist is getting not so hot reviews. Getting a little let down by these Marvel shows on Netflix.

I like all of the other Netflix shows a lot. I'd put Legion + non-Iron-Fist-netflix-shows well above all other comic book shows on TV. Daredevil and Luke Cage had ups and downs, but that's relative to themselves. At their worst, they were still wayyyyy better than DC shows and other Marvel shows. Iron Fist, not so much.

Season 2 of Daredevil featured Jon Bernthal (Shane form TWD) as The Punisher. I thought it was better than season 1.

Certainly, it was better for me than the first half or so of S1. I thought Bernthal did a great job, though perhaps no one can compare to D'Onofrio's Fisk.

I'm on episode 10 now. I get the feeling that things might start to come together better now.

I did enjoy the homage to Drunken Master in episode 8.

It is kinda funny every time Danny says he has a plan and then his plan is to just wing it.

Just finished it. It wasn't terrible. It became much better as it went on. The second half of the "season" redeemed the first half. Episodes 1 through 3 were basically a waste of time.

Iron Fist was my least favorite Netflix Marvel superhero series by far. I still haven't bothered to learn the name of the actor who played Danny Rand. I definitely wasn't impressed with his fighting skills. He seemed like a yoga instructor who had two months of training at Kung Fu R'Us instead of a master martial artist. Jeez, at the end, he could barely beat up Harold Meachum. The actress who played Colleen Wing looked like a fighter or she had the world's greatest stunt double. Thank God for her and Claire Temple who both kept me interested in all of their scenes.

Like all of the Marvel series so far, Iron Fist should have been 2 or 3 episodes shorter. A LOT of the Meachum family stuff could have been eliminated.

Danny Rand looked very familiar to me. Turns out he played Loras Tyrell in GoT. Colleen did not look familiar, then I learned she played one of the Sand Snakes in GoT. Danny has a friend named Davos (the name of a prominent character on GoT LOL!).

OK - I finished and I liked it. If it got bad reviews who cares? I thought the fight sequences were great. (yes not as great as daredevil but still enjoyable). The fight in the rain particularly stood out for me.

As I said previously, i LOVED it up until the point Danny got back into the company. Then I started to have a bit of a problem with Danny Rand himself.

He really is the perfect epitome of a whiny self-entitled millennial.

It's interesting how many other characters tell him he's just a child cos that's pretty much the way he acts. I did love many of the supporting characters particularly Ward, Colleen and Davos.
I kind of wish Joy had a badass moment - maybe that will come.
Funny, I thought it was only 10 episodes so when I got to 11, 12 & 13 each one was a surprise.

I did have issue with the last couple of moments/set up for season 2 - if they really want us to believe Davos has joined up with Gao... I don't believe it.

Personally. I thought Luke Cage was the best of them all... until Diamondback crapped all over the last three or so episodes.

Still have two more to go but did they ever explain why there was suddenly a swat team exploding the ceiling and attacking the dojo when they had Gao? If that was Gao's people why weren't they Hand ninjas?

I thought episode 11 was almost a good one, then there was the inexplicable turnabout between Colleen and Danny in the rain. Completely unexplained change of heart. There are many times throughout this series where it feels like the way scenes were written was, they took a card from the storyboard, gave it to a writer, told them to go off and write it with no input or information about the rest of the episode. I feel like this card says, "Danny and Colleen talk in the rain, and then they reconcile" -- nevermind that the scene was incomprehensible as far as character motivations.

I've read a number of the online Iron Fist reviews now that I've finished watching. Seems like most of them were written after watching only episodes 1 - 6. No wonder it was trashed by reviewers. I thought the early episodes were tedious too. It's not like the second half of the series was the pinnacle of Golden Age tv but it did rise to average.

After the first 6 I thought, this isn't too bad, and is maybe unfairly reviewed (5 or 6 out of 10, as opposed to a 33 on metacritic). 7-10 I changed my mind and decided it was just plain bad. 11 was maybe the okay-est episode so far. It's going to have to do a lot to redeem itself in the last two episodes. Certainly if I'd gotten 6 to review I might not have hated it as much as critics.

I thought the second half was better than the first. I guess I dont over think this stuff too much.

As far as he fighting scenes, I just wrote it off to this dude is so much of a badass he doesnt need all those flashy moves. He is, after all, the Ironfist and in a fight with him, you will lose.

Also, if this guy lived in a monastery all his life, you cant really expect him to have a lot of social skills and life experiences. I can see the child like behavior.

YES. Like when Bakuto showed up at Harold's penthouse and told him he was now in charge. Then nothing - Harold just went on like that never happened and he was a free man.

Something I liked: the WWII Iron Fist, with a classic Iron Fist mask.

Something I didn't like: the guy who played Iron Fist wasn't built like a kick ass martial artist. It would have been OK if he was a great actor, but he wasn't.

Something I'm wondering about: Claire took the bear claws weapon. Are the foreshadowing her becoming HellCat instead of Patsy?

Does it make me a bad person that, after watching Episode 9, I have a craving for ice cream?

In addition to Game of Thrones, they also had a couple of major Banshee actors...Ward was the tattooed former white nationalist turned deputy, and Lei Kung was Job.

For those who aren't impressed with the Iron Fist comic book, be it known that some of the best comics ever made are Iron Fist comics...specifically, the Immortal Iron Fist series from a few years ago. The great stuff is collected in Immortal Iron Fist: The Complete Collection Volume 1 (there was an oversized hardcover collection, Immortal Iron Fist Omnibus, but that goes for hundreds of dollars now). Volume 2 is pretty good too, but not in the same league as the first volume. It really expanded the mythology of the Iron Fist world in fascinating ways.

The old stuff was often cheesy and sometimes kind of dull, but Immortal Iron Fist (at least while Matt Fraction was writing it and David Aja drawing it, i.e., Volume 1) was amazing.
