    Can you name/label manual recordings?

I currently have to do a few manual recordings. Is there a way to label or name them so that they don't all appear as "manual record: Tuesday 9pm" (whatever the default is)?

It should actually say "Manual: + Name of Program on the time slot that you entered manually." For example: "Manual: SportsCenter" or "Manual: The O'Reilly Factor."

Only if you record from a channel that has guide listings. If you record from unencrypted QAM channels without cablecards (=> no guide listings for most providers) you get what the OP states.

The only way I know of to rename recordings of any kind involves using TivoWebPlus on a hacked unit.

Perhaps eventaully TiVo will integrate this functionality.

Hey Omick, try renaming an Amazon unbox file or a PPV and see if doing that lets it stay more than 24 hours. It could, as it wouldn't know new name. Might also then rename some show you are deleting to that old name, so it would find that and delete first.

It doesn't work that way. The name is not the index; it's just a label.

However, if you have a hacked unit, you can simply extract the recording.
