futon lists last season as 2 and then starting this year it appears to be season 5?

i thought this was strange so checked out some torrent listings and apparently at least somewhere else S 5 has been shown

so are there any missing seasons between 2 and 5? just wondering why futon would be so far off

I can't answer your question on futon, but I'm pretty sure Merlin is shown in the UK in the fall. What is new to us now has already aired there.

Where are you seeing that??? 4 seasons have aired in the US, with the 5th season airing now.

By the way, the current season is the last season. The series finale already aired in Britain.

I feel like I'm missing something. I don't recall missing any episodes but much of the "previously on" was stuff I'd never seen...

PP is correct The first 4 seasons already aired in the US. There is an issue if your SP is set for first run only. You might have missed some episodes.

oh, it's been set for "both" for as long as I can remember. It seems like maybe I missed a 2-part season 4 finale or something because things are "close enough" to what I watched but with a little extra that I seem to have missed.

I guess I'll get season 4 and then watch the last 2-3 episodes just to make sure.

You do realize most of it didn't air on NETWORK TV. IIRC, only S1 aired on network, the rest were on Syfy? (thus I've only seen the ones on network so far.. it's one I should get on DVD some eon)

Yes, I watched it on syfy...

It seems I missed season 4 completely.

The last thing I remember is Morgana and her sister attacking the castle with some sort of undead army

so is the description in the spoiler above the end of season 3?

My memory is the SiFi Channel had some kind of minor name change which required, some cable systems, deleting and re-creating SPs. Didn't it change from SciFi to syfy?

You can probably watch season 5 without seeing season 4. The fact that there is a season 5 suggests
Merlin saves Arthur as necessary in season 4
and the "previously on ...." will take care of anything you really need to know.

You like the show and can see it on Netflix. Might as well catch up.

I already downloaded season 4 and will watch it. I'm just trying to make sure I didn't miss season 3 (or the second half of season 3 or something like that) as well...just trying to figure out how far to go back without downloading entire seasons just to check.

that's what I'm trying to avoid. If someone who has watched everything so far can just read my spoiler and tell me if I'm right, that would be great!

Yes, that was the end of season 3, although minor quibble:
the army wasn't undead, it was immortal
Well, that could be said about almost any show. However there were some pretty major plot developments in Season 4, actually.

Thanks for the confirmation. I have no clue how I missed the entire season. I just assumed the show was cancelled. Watched episode 1 from season 4 last night and enjoyed it.

I already saw season 5. Most of the major plot developments in season 4 are either not significant in understanding season 5 or are more then adequately covered in the previously on Merlin introduction.

Not an issue since OP is watching season 4 and since season 4 is readily available on Netflix.
