Season 9 starts on the new FX channel called FXX on Wednesday Sept 4th at 10pm EST.

" FXX is the new basic cable entertainment network launching on September 2, 2013. Geared toward a young adult audience, the schedule will feature original series, movies, and acquired series.
The channel will be anchored by the acclaimed hit comedies It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The League, Legit and the critically acclaimed late-night strip Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell. Chozen, a new animated comedy, will launch in first quarter 2014. "

It appears Comcast Houston has FXX at channel 105. That is NOT an HD channel. Unless it is being multi-cast on another HD channel, which this link didn't show.

WTF? A step backwards! I have to LOVE a show before I'll watch it in non-HD.

    On DirecTV, it's 619HD.

Yeah, we're getting screwed on our system, too, since they're putting it onto a premium tier ("Sports and Information"). Not gonna pay more to the MAN for the "privilege" of watching a handful of former FX shows ("The League" among them)....

Comcast in Chicago burbs says it will be channel 401 starting tomorrow. As of today, the only option I have to record a show is a small station showing of the syndicated episodes. I'll check again tomorrow night, I guess.

I wonder if Louis CK's show will be moving to FXX. FX is for Drama, FXX is for Comedy, right?

"Legit" will also move to FXX when it returns in January.

I didn't know the show was moving to FXX. Just added it to record to my DVR. I'm hoping whatever channels I subscribe to includes FXX. I added it on the DirecTV phone app. I think the channels are like unbolded if I don't get them.

We just got official word from our cableco (Mediacom) that FXX will NOT be offered on standard tiers; you have to pay extra for it...

It is like that Mark Maron TV show on IFC. I saw the first episode free on Vudu. I liked it, but I'd have to pay an extra $15/month to add the tier with IFC. No thank you.

Unlike IFC you'll more than likely have to add a sports tier to get FXX because it replaced Fox Soccer and most providers have said they aren't gonna bother moving it into a different package.

That's what Mediacom did; added it to their "Sports & Information" tier....

Turns out Comcast also has it at 704, which is HD. It's odd that the link didn't show the HD channel, just the SD channel. But I came across it last night while surfing the guide.

Looks like I get FXX on DirecTV, but only until 9/13. DirecTV is having a free preview of it through 9/13. After that, I'd have to move up 2 tiers, at a cost of $16/month, to get the channel.

Which tier is that? I guess I have to go to their website and poke around a little.

ETA: OK, looks like it's the XTRA and above that have it. Fortunately I have it already. But that really kind of stinks. But considering all the distribution channels seem to be doing this, I have to suspect it's FOX that's to blame. Even if they're not, I'm still going to blame FOX, because I want to.
