Okay, thanks to this thread, I've been hooked on it too. I'm up to season 5 episode 3. I just can't believe how easy it is to watch a couple of eps and then say "what the hell, just one more" and then watch at least two more.

He wasn't anti-semitic. He converted for the jokes. That makes it OK.

Cranston was told by his agent to compose his own tunes whenever he whistles or hums in Malcolm in the Middle.

That way he gets acting residual checks and music residuals checks.

I started doing it again tonight. I've got current stuff piling up and everything was just boring. It was just so refreshing to watch the first couple episodes again.

(Watching the Netflix version this time)

My daughter (11) is a huge fan and she and I have been watching together for the past couple of years. We're not on a regular schedule. Some nights it will be three episodes, some nights just one. Sometimes it's weeks between episodes. We're in the fifth season right now. It's hard to pick a favorite episode.

It's easily one of the best comedies in the history of television. Perfect cast, and perfectly executed on every level.

I love the bowling episode and the church daycare episode (what's that big "T" on the wall?). But they're virtually all great.

The one that I'm semi-remembering for some reason was when their grandma was trying to get Reese to show up Malcolm (for being too smart and supposedly not crafty enough?).

Something about an object that you were supposed to use to fool the victim into getting stuck and then humiliating them. Except Malcolm figured it out quickly enough to turn the tables on Reese; which grandma hated. Clearly I need to rewatch these...

Without Lois around, Grandma Ida makes Reese get married to Ida's helper, Raduca (Rheagan Wallace), but only if he defeats Malcolm in three challenges. When Lois, Dewey and Hal return, they find out that Reese has run with Raduca to Las Vegas to get hitched, much to Ida's dismay.

Yeah, that sounds right. I'd forgotten it was a marriage scenario; just remembered Malcolm turning the tables on Reese against Grandma's wishes.

Just finished this rewatch. It was really fun going through it all, and with so much happening every episode it was almost like watching it for the first time, too. And what a beautiful and somewhat hopeful message was buried in there in the final episode when Lois tells Malcolm her plan for him to be President, and why. It was amazingly relevant to the situation we have today.
