Has anyone else noticed that the Hulu application is not as good as on other platforms? Perfect example being that on any other platform it knows where I left off with the last episode of a certain show. When I come back the next day to watch the next episode, I have to search and try to remember which one on TiVo...whereas on my Samsung SmartTV or Chromecast it says "Watch next episode" and has the episode highlighted that is next in the lineup.
There are a bunch of threads on here complaining about how terrible the Hulu app is... to the point that I didn't even try it yet. Based on other reports, I'm surprised you are getting it to work at all.
I've never had an issue using Hulu on my Roamio Plus or the minis connected to it. I'm surprised when I read these types of posts. Sure it's out of date compared to other devices but it always worked as intended by playing the show I'm trying to watch without pause, buffer, glitch, pixelation or issue.
Hulu thru TiVo doesn;t seem to play any commercials at the designated breaks.
It pauses a few seconds and program resumes. However the final break does (around the 3/4 mark) playing the 30 sec commercial.
Yes I understand that Hulu doesn't always insert commercials in some program content but I don't believe this is the case.
If I watch through Roku the commercials show up at all breaks.
Just wondering if the "broken" app also has an undocumented benefit.

My experience also,
the App works fine and rarely a commercial.
It just needs to be updated since TiVo intends to market to the Aereo crowd and the OTA users, It must support the new Showtime content or TiVo is just missing that opportunity.
Just called TiVo and requested that it implement most current Hulu update. Was told that request would be relayed to "software engineers" at TiVo and that decision would be based upon how many customers called in to request that.

That's nice, but the general thinking is that TiVo isn't the one that would have to update the app but rather Hulu itself. So calling up Hulu to request the app be updated would probably be more effective.
I'm on a free Hulu trial right now and have been using it a fair amount on my Roamio. I like Hulu more than I thought I would but, as others have noted, their TiVo app is a little rough. I've had a few crashes, some weird instances where two screens of text simultaneously appear over each other, etc. I find it generally responsive once it starts but it's even slower to launch than the other OTT apps on my Roamio. I did email Hulu support and ask when/if they're going to update the TiVo app to support the new Showtime add-on service but they said they had no information about that.
