    Discussion thread for Season 2 Episodes 09, 10, 11
    (Chapters 22, 23, 24)

The Underwoods unite to deflect accusations. Remy and Tusk continue to apply pressure to Frank through friends and family. Freddy gets sideswiped as he attempts to move forward. Frank and Claire decide to seek revenge.

Stamper and Rachel argue. There is a bomb scare at Underwood's residence. There is a Sino-Japanese military standoff. As Remy and Jackie become closer, Frank discovers their relationship. Claire and Jackie tussle over Claire's legislation but do not come to terms, which leads to Frank's involvement. Meechum guards Claire. Sayyad uncovers a PAC scandal that becomes public.

Frank is interrogated by Dunbar. Claire's legislation loses steam. Frank, Stamper and Grayson scheme. Remy asks questions. Megan gets back involved. Frank, Claire and Meechum let down their guard. Stamper deals with personal issues.

I had thought Tusk was a ruthless businessman but that he also had morals.

How wrong I was. It looks like Tusk is almost as bad as Frank (almost because Tusk has not murdered anyone...that we know of...non-avian, that is). Frank's gateway drug to murder seemed to be killing that dog. I wonder if Tusk's gateway to murder will be killing that bird?

Did not see the three-way coming! (no pun intended.)

Poor Meacham. Way to complicate his life.

that whole scene where Claire and Meechum were drinking, i was just saying "please please please don't go there." then Frank walks in and i'm like, phew, ok good. But then when Frank is changing the dressing, i was like, wait... what the... and then HOLY CRAP! that is one f'd up couple....

I had been thinking for a few episodes that Claire was going to seduce Meachum, with Frank's full blessing. So when Frank came in to see find them drinking, I knew where it was headed. The only surprise was how involved Frank got.

I've been blown away this season by the level of writing. There have been a few times when something appears one way, but I think will come across a different way upon a second viewing.

For example, I think Frank watched the porn expecting Meachum to check in on him, just to get a gauge his reaction.

Yeah, Claire and Meacham was obvious. Frank was the big twist (for me).

It is interesting how similar Frank and Remy are. Because they are so similar, I think neither one can ever trust the other, even a little bit. But then, what was Remy's game trying to make a deal with Frank? I will hurt you but not destroy you, in return, ??? uh, keep me in mind for future job possibilities?

I think Remy 's not as ruthless.

He seemed torn about screwing over Jackie.

I don't think that's a spoiler but I'm not sure what was in which episode and wanted to be cautious.

It shouldn't have been that big a surprise.
Last season, they did mention that Frank had a homosexual relationship with one of his Military School buddies.

Freddy, I feel sorry for you but your son is an idiot.

I loved that. I thought sure that sooner or later someone would keep talking when Tusk said Shut Up and they'd be toast. I love Gerald McRainey.

Not a spoiler: The thing about a House of Cards is the house is fragile and always collapses.

The Underwoods have set up the Prez so his counseling visits are going to be known, along with whatever dirt they can put on him for the Chinese deal, and he won't run for a 2nd term.

I knew that our "hacker" buddy was not going to go away. I figured he'd get his FBI handler, but he can let the info he has on Doug/Rachel get out and get Doug & Frank.

Just watched eps 11 and 12 tonight. That three way was messed up. I knew Claire was trying to seduce Meechum, but didn't expect Frank to get involved. And I was very surprised at the strait-laced Meechum giving in to that just because he got a few bourbons in him.

Why does Frank pronounce wHip and wHen that way? Who does he think he is? Stewie Griffin?

So a little late to the party here. :)

Was the threesome in episode 11the first time we ever saw Frank and Claire be physically intimate with each other?

I've been thinking that through most of last season and this that I don't think we've ever seen them have sex.
