Ad me to the "this made no sense at all" crowd. But I'll give them a couple of episodes to get back on track. Now, if they spend the whole season in mind control, I am going to be very disappointed.

Also, Beverly's people seem to have technologies more advanced than GD. Not sure why they need the GD people at all. :p

I started to agree with you and then thought, it may seem they are more advanced, but really they are just being open about using technology that GD wouldn't use because of government regulations and more importantly, the ethics and morals behind using something like that.

And maybe they just have one cool trick that they're trying leverage...

I will say, I watched this again last night and it was sad to see Carter not really happy and there not be an 'aha' moment where he stumbles thru what to do to solve the problem or asks "and that means what?" after Henry or Alison explain stuff and not have him tell Sarah to get him a beer. His Jeep did get smushed though. That's something.

    Jenna is adorable.

Yes, and it's especially annoying this time around because I suspect Beverly and her people are trying to reset it back to the way it was before they changed the timeline in WWII.

I can see this, BUT the flaw in this is self evident, given the situation they are in. She gives them some real problem that she needs their creative intellect to solve. They work on it, and given the scope of such any problem complex enough to require the entire steal-the-ship-and-crew scheme, they will run experiemnts as steps to the solution. Those experiments are not run in reality, but in simulation, so their outcome isn't REAL, and any conclusions based on a neuro-simulation are completely untrustworthy. The only possibe work-around to this is if they can monitor the people closely enough for Bev's guys to run the experiments in reality that the crew run in simuation, and insert the real results back into the simulation.

That seems like a lot of work. Solving the problem itself would be a lt of work too, so why not do that, and not bother kidnapping the crew? Are they THAT irreplaceable?

One of the main points of the show is that Eureka and GD has the best of the best -- the world's greatest geniuses. Yes, they are irreplaceable.

Well, Beverly has technical people smart enough to divert the Astreaus, kidnap the crew, and build that massive neuro-simulator. They seem awfully capable.

That because the whole Astreaus thing is a simulation from the start. ;)

Hate...Hate....Hated this episode. "Dallas" revisited....I'll give it one more ep before I cancel the SP. What a cop out by the writers....absolutely horrible.

I can't picture them doing another reboot, so my guess (or hope) would be that the whole kidnapping of the crew is resolved in an episode or two.

The people back in Eureka in the mean time are going to be trying to figure out where the ship went. Granted, most of the people who usually come up with the technical solutions are on the ship, but they've still got Henry.

time travel is never a good plot device, and now we have time travel mixed up with 4 years of being "lost" that didn't actually really happen? I'll finish the show, but I have not been a fan as of recent.

I disagree. Time travel sci-fi is my favorite.

Mine also. And that's why I loved what they did in Season Four.

I wonder if they come back and resolve it, then those four years haven't really passed and Jenna will go back to being just a toddler, and all will be as it was, only maybe a few months separation instead of 4 years.

In the coming scenes after the episode-

They did have Jack proposing to Alison, so I am not really worried. Either they stay four years ahead and Jo and Jack break up or it goes back to normal.

Spoilers from my observations in the previews.
It looks like Jack mind swaps with someone in the artificial reality, which should give the Astraeus crew hope and those left behind in Eureka hope.

And this is why I probably won't stick with the show. If they go back to things as they were (and not as they appeared in this ep), I'm gone. I absolutely detest the relationship between Allison and Jack; it's the singular thing that has ruined this show for me. Way too sappy for a Sci Fi show....

I think it is Fargo. But I wasn't sure if it was alternate reality or not.

But the stuff in this episode is all made up in Alison's head - isn't it? Is Grace and Fargo and the rest of the crew helping to feed this false reality?

I don't like the Alison and Jack relationship - not since the beginning, but I knew there was no way to stop it. And Jo and Jack just makes my skin crawl, though at least they didn't come back to find Jack with Tess.

I thought they were all in the same virtual reality...it's not in anybody's head.
