According to the BBC America website and the official Doctor Who Facebook page, the first new episode will premiere on Sept. 1 at 9pm.

My DTV DVR Season Pass has the first episode set to record 9/1. It showed up on the schedule yesterday.

My (Comcast) feed still shows one of the "specials" on at 9pm on Saturday. No new episodes in sight. I'm recording whatever's on anyway.

FIOS too. I'll record the special and I hope they get it sorted soon.

That's very odd. When I checked zap2it on Thursday, it was correct and, as I expected, was correct on Friday on my TiVos. My Tivos never had eny specials in that time period. You do realize that the new episode is next Saturday, not tonight?

P.S. there is no difference between the UK and US versions of the episodes except that the US has commercials?

I have RCN and they don't have BBC America HD yet (just the non-HD version).

The first evening of airings (like the first 2 or 3), there's no difference.

Subsequent airings are severely chopped up. They're good enough for a casual viewer, but for a fan they're bollocks.

How severely depending on the length of the original, which is not standard. I.e., where American shows are always the same length (having to fit into a one-hour slot with a pre-determined amount of commercials), the British shows can vary. As I noted earlier, I looked at two random Season 6 episodes, and they were 48 and 42 minutes long. The 48 would thus have about 6 minutes cut, and the 42 little if anything. Of course, that was a random sample of two; I have no idea how representative it is, but my vague memory is that's pretty typical. And season finales and premiers can run longer...an hour or even a squidge more.

Still, not really worth the gamble, is it? Just record it the first night.

The other thing I like about the UK versions, no screen crawls. :)

Yeah, I think I'll stick with the Magic Version...pristine, plus a few hours earlier. ;)

The US ones are not in a 1:20 time slot, it's in a 1 hr time slot. That means lots of stuff has to get cut to make time for the commercials.

I wish they were doing the longer time slot like last season. I'll have to see if I can find the uncut one somewhere. If they don't want people to pirate the stuff, they should show it full length and uncensored!

Depending on how long the original is.
