    Definitely keep watching!

I watched the entire series for the first time a few months ago. I loved breezing through it all at once, but I really miss it now. One of my all-time favorites.

I never did watch the final season. 30 year old HS students no longer do it for me. I wish they had just made Coach and Mrs. T the constant; I loved their dynamic.

That's pretty obvious from your post. The players graduated and most moved on. They brought in new players. The only constants in the show were the Taylors.

    Yes, and it shows.
The writers looked like they were forced into a corner by the strike; the season finale begins with a contrived plot. The same thing happened with that season of Heroes; at least one plot point was left hanging because they had to change the storyline to end it before the strike.

So has the OP continued watching S2 and if so, what does he think so far?

I'm undecided. Remember the scene where Landry walks through a long, dark hallway into a room with people and says something? That was the last episode I've seen. I can't remember which episode that was--2:6 maybe?

There are moments which are great, but it still doesn't feel right. I hope the Landry thing goes away soon. There are so many logistical problems that it pulls me out of the show. I think if it wasn't for that plot point I would feel much better. It's like they broke their trust with me and now they have to earn it back.

I have high hopes going forward because of all the great reviews and recommendations. Thanks for everyone's comments. I'll definitely stick it out. I was worried it was yet another show that starts off strong, gets off track, and then I'm left wondering why I'm still watching it after a few seasons (e.g. ER, Grey's, DH). It's good to know they are able to pull it together and this is just a little bump in the road.

Not everyone likes the same shows. Maybe this is one that is just not your cup of tea. It's one of my favorites. I liked season 2, even. I'm not as critical as some people here. I stuck with ER throughout, and am still watching Grey's. For the life of me I can't think of what DH means.

    DH = Desperate Housewives

I don't think that season two of FNL bothered me too much since I was watching the entire series over a few weeks. If I was enduring it as it originally aired, I might have disliked it more.

I think this may be why it didn't bother me too much either. I watched it for the first time in one big gulp.

I am the tech person in my house (I know - pathetic as the only woman in a house full of boys). So...I am constantly queuing up shows I hear are good for my husband to watch. I simply do not have the time to sit and commit to something. I had put FNL on our iPad for a vacation 2 years ago and forgot about it. Husband stumbled onto it on their last fishing trip and is hooked. I do not have the heart to tell him the above comments about Season 2. OTOH, I think I should tell him something so he stays with it. Point is -thanks to all who chimed in here so I would be forewarned. It is a perfect show for him, so thanks!

    I just read in Wikipedia:

    " Deleted scenes
As part of their online push for the show, NBC made the rare move of posting deleted scenes from each episode on its web site, though deleted scenes are normally held until a DVD release".

Would these scenes be included in the episodes we are viewing on Netflix?

I did give up on Desperate Housewives after a few seasons. That's one of the few that I quit on. It just got too silly for me. and if my memory sticks with me correctly, I had a DVR hard drive crap out on me with a full season on in in the middle of the run. I liked what's her face that had real breasts, and they were spectacular.

It's not as bad as this thread is making it sound. Compared to the rest of FNL, which is stellar, S2 is subpar. But compared with all TV shows, it's no different than most stuff you would see on typical broadcast dramas. There are just a couple plot points that are eyeroll worthy, but it's not the whole show and doesn't involve all the characters or actors. My guess is your husband probably won't even notice the problems that are discussed in this thread.
