Are we better off with Tivo r omcast DVr. We have been going back and forth
Why is it necessary to start another thread on this same topic? I s it just that you want the word "Comcast" at the top of the forum?
Giving the OP the benefit of the doubt I would say the following:
It depends. If you have HD reception, then the Comcast DVR allows you to record on dual HD tuners. You can get that with the Series 3 TiVo, but that is a big purchase, versus renting the box from Comcast.
Also, on the "horizon", Comcast will be offering a TiVo software upgrade on their Motorola DVR boxes. So if you didn't want to shell out right now for an S3, you could wait and see what happens.
All that being said, in the short run prior to when the TiVo software is available for Comcast, nothing beats the ease of use of a TiVo. Having tried to help my father-in-law to set up a season pass for 24 on his Comcast HD DVR was a real pain in the arse.
Nice vague thread title.
I suspect that the OP meant to reply to his original thread.
