This has been an on going saga for almost a month now and finally today Comcast informed me they aren't able to activate my cable card/Tivo Romio Plus. I've tried self installing 4 now and this 5th one the tech brought today. No matter what they try I'm stuck unable to change "Val: ?" The local affiliates come through just fine in SD and HD but everything else is "channel not authorized." I know this has to be fixable but I don't know how.
Any suggestions? I live on the 18th floor of a highrise and they claim the signal is too weak for the CableCARD if that means anything.....

I assume you've called them and given them the Host ID over the phone and everything?

Try calling 877-405-2298 it's the Comcast cable card activation line. They had my card working in 5 minutes on most channels and then on all of them within 30 minutes after a refresh. Here's hoping tonight's shows record as scheduled.

What I had to do is call TiVo and after looking at my setup up (it was not paired right), they called Comcast. Got them on a three way call and told them what they needed to do. Within a few minutes I had all my channels.

This was after spending two days dealing with Comcast direct. They were going roll a truck. But I know what would have happened. Tech would walk in say it's not paired right and call his tech dept. Would really be nice if we access to that number. Then we could skip all the support people who don't know what they are doing.

I have used this Comcast number 877-405-2298 at least 15 times (for cable card activation) for myself and friends without problems, so at least in CT it works.
