I going to replace my Hard drive Monday afternoon I hope. If I do a clear and delete the software still would be left to copy to the new hard drive? I should be able to keep the pairing intact.

If you do a C&DE it wipes everything - lineup, settings, recordings, etc.

I'd just copy it as is, then stick the old drive on a shelf in case you ever need it again.

Caddy - What exactly do you mean by "pairing"? Is this a dual drive TiVo?

I think he talking about cable cards, and if you do a C&D all your cable card pairing info goes also, you will get new cable card data and have to call or whatever to get you cable card working again.

Sorry I have answered back been busy moving some furniture.
It was exactly what lessd Stated. If you buy ahard drive from weakess or vcrdude on ebay you will need to call in and have the tivo paired again.
I used JMS and it did very well. It took about 12 hours to copy every thing but it got done with no problems.
