I would add the Bris episode as one of my all time favorites. This also had the pigman.

Honeymooners - the one mentioned above is great but the episode where Alice's mother comes and ruins the end of the play Ralph was going to see is my all time favorite.

I loved that moment, it doesn't work as a standalone for me because you wouldn't have the needed disdain for her to really enjoy the moment :)

MASH: Life Time - The surgeons race against time to save a soldier with lacerated aorta.
This episode includes a clock on-screen and has no laugh track.

for some reason, my favorite st:tng was always "time's arrow", primarily due to jerry hardin's performance as samuel clemmons. many choose the finale, "all good things".

    from wikipedia, an interesting note:

For me it was when the Brady Bunch went to King's Island because I grew up going there.

My favorite TV moment was from the "ppor Horatio" episode of the Andy Griffith show.

Totally agree. The Shaky Mohl :) There are just too many. Bizarro Jerry, the episode where Elaine sneezes in the Pasta Primavera and George checks out eh cleavage. George is dead. Fetivus. :D

Another classic Honeymooners. Ralph goes on the game show. Can't get Swannee River, and he "brives a dus" :D

You really need to watch I think 5 episodes to get this. the shooting, which was the end of season 3 and then the killer is revealed at the end of the 4th episode in season 4.

Very true. Some classic TV moments though happened to be jump the shark moments in some respects. We remember them, so that makes them classics.

I was thinking the episode that prompted the question, not the episode(s) that answered the question.

Well, "Who Shot JR" is suggestive of the reveal, not the incident itself. But yes, the buildup episode is really good.

People asked the question for about 8 months based on the episode in which he was shot, not after they knew who it was. 33 years later, people don't even remember who it was, but they remember that it happened.

Not to mention that it is impossible for the doors to open without the elevator car (in normal operation) because the motor and the mechanism that opens the hallway doors is on the elevator car. Completely ruins it for me, and the series is one of my favorites.

    My all-time favorite.

But also, the one where Ralph and Ed buy a TV together.

    "Captain Video!"

I was reading up a little on Honeymooner history and ran across a few interesting ones.

While Carney and Meadows both won Emmy awards, Gleason never did. He was nominated multiple times, but never won.

    Gleason refused to rehearse, ever.

In the classic scene where Ralph dresses up in his 'man from space' costume, the piece falling off when he's showing it to Alice was not planned. Meadows ad-libs "You're losing it already." Gleason ad-libs in response "Don't touch that- that's my de-naturizer."

Finally, Ralph was never actually shown driving a bus.
