Can I use my universal IR remote and use the slide keyboard?

    After many years away, I am returning to Tivo on Wednesday. Switching from Dish Network to Comcast and getting a Premier XL4. Very excited.

    Have a quick question about the slide remote. I will be using my universal remote (learning RF remote with IR repeater in the cabinet) for almost everything, but I am planning to also pick up a Tivo Slide for typing.

    Am I correct that I can leave the Bluetooth receiver for the Slide plugged in to my Tivo, but still control the box with IR from my universal remote for all functions other than typing? I assume that will work, but wanted to confirm.

    Yes. You can use both remotes at the same time.

    JfNebraska, I hope Comcast in your area is all digital. I thought that Charter was in my area, until I set up the LX4 yesterday and the bottom tier didn't show up at all.

    I hate that I had to leave Directv but TIVO makes Charter better. I kept one box for VOD.
