Pirates use condom!!!
Just out of curiosity, why do you keep putting periods before the Roman numerals in the episode titles for this show?
Yes. This is first show I seen that did this.
After the title sequence, it clearly showed "II." on my screen.
The thread title is ".II", not "II".
I'm liking this show a lot. Looks like we've met the major characters so far.
Eleanor can drop the f-bomb like a modern day gangsta rapper.
Max can run away with me any day.
Right, that was his point. The other John seemed to be implying that the show did it, not him, which isn't true.
And the thread title for the first one was ".1", not "I.", which confused me even more. Black Sail Point One?!? What does that even mean?
Having just re-read Treasure Island a year or so ago, it's interesting to see nods to the future history of Silver and wonder where they'll take it in this series. I guess that depends on if it lasts more than one season.
Spoilers from Treasure Island
Silver is married to a woman of African descent who takes care of his business affairs. I wonder if that is to be Max? Will we see Silver become quartermaster? Lose his leg? Gain a parrot named Flint?
I don't think I've ever read Treasure Island. I'm liking this show enough that it made me seek it out and it's free so I sent it to my Kindle.
What! You never read Treasure Island? All the time you went to school you were not force to do "Book reports"
Kidding aside really enjoying the show.
I think were getting ahead assuming, that this is Long John Silver, but if a foul mouth parrot shows up....
The only book report I ever remember having to do was "The Scarlet Letter". There may have been others, but I don't recall them.
To this day I still hate reading Hawthorne.
I tried to read "Moby Dick" once for pleasure, but couldn't get through it. I think I might have seen a Treasure Island movie or TV show once... did Disney do one on Wide World of Disney or something? About the only thing I remember is that there's a character named Jim. Hopefully that's right.
I'm pretty sure I never had to read Treasure Island either.
How about Muppet Treasure Island, did you see that?
Hmm. I thought I saw all the Muppet Movies, but that doesn't ring a bell. Looking at IMDB I am pretty sure I didn't. I would think I would remember Tim Curry as Long John Silver.
Whatever you do, don't watch the movie version with Jack Palance as Silver after you read the book. I did and the horrible changes to the story made me want to throw heavy objects at the screen.
Note, this same advice goes for recent movie versions of The Scarlet Letter and The Last of the Mohicans.
Was there another movie of "The Last of the Mohicans" after 1992?
That's the one I'm thinking of. After I read the book I sought it out. Didn't realize it was 20 years old. No matter, it still sucked.
