I'm still enjoying the show and I'm glad to see Diggle point out to Oliver that he doesn't have to strictly to Robert's list.

It seems that Diggle is becoming Alfred to Oliver.

That was certainly an interesting take on the Royal Flush Gang and while I get they can't and won't do flying playing cards, I'm not sure if the hockey masks worked.
It was interesting that Robert caused the Gang's money problems and that not everyone takes redemption when offered to them.

Although I guess the cops don't look up in Starling City.

    Shout outs this week:
    Keystone City
    Stagg Industries
    Coast City
    Broome's
So was that a Larchmont High School ring or a Legion of Superheroes ring?

I assume that is what they were called in the comics. Or did I miss that name in the show?

In the comics, was there a Ten to go with the A, K, Q, and J?

The name was not specified in the episode and yes, there's a Ten because then it is a Royal Flush.

Of course these days, Ace is usually an Android as well.

So I'm robbing banks, and this vigilante guy interferes with one of the jobs. I know! Let's rob a bank again in the same town instead of trying a different city...

Yea, if there's a nutjob in green shooting arrows at me and misses, I think I'll give him another chance to shoot me.

Didn't Oliver hit the guy in the chest with an arrow? The guy just broke the arrow off and then went hand-to-hand with Oliver and was holding his own....with a piece of arrow in his chest. Or did he have some sort of body armor and the arrow never actually penetrated his skin?

I think he had the armor. He did say before that that he was prepared for Ollie this time...

So if the father had chosen to not rob that last bank, would Ollie have just let him and his family skate on the previous bank robbery and cop shooting?

I think that was Oliver's plan, yes. It was his way of making up for what his father "did" to them. Although I think it was extremely generous. Losing one's job without severance hardly gives one the right to rob banks and shoot cops.

When he said that, I thought he was referring to his riot shield. But I suppose he could also have meant wearing a flak jacket or something.

Did Oliver take his mom to Diggle's sister's burger joint?

    Yes.
Although in the comic books, Big Belly Burger was a chain owned by Lex Luthor when he was a business mogul as well as a scientist.

"Big Belly Burger is a pastiche of Big Boy."

Nobody EVER looks up. Peter Parker has taken advantage of that many times (as did River Tam), but I can tell you that it's true in gaming, as well. I used to trounce people at the game Descent because nobody EVER looked up. Too many people have "2 dimensional thinking", as Spock would put it.

Yeah but it's funny that both times he's evading the police in this episode, he hides above them and they miss him.

The question does arise though as to how corrupt the Starling City Police Department is.

When did Diggle get the bodyguard job back, and how izzt that he can whisper secret things to Ollie and take him away?

Everybody in this show has green eyes! Oliver, Lana, Sis, Mom, Tom, the doctor guy....OK not Diggle and Lana's pal.

And the vigilante wears green masacara.

Yes, there was a line that stating he quit in frustration with Oliver constantly ditching him.

I'm sure that Diggle's cover that not only is he Oliver's bodyguard, he's assisting him in opening his nightclub.
