I have to admit that Green Arrow's type of vigilante justice is a bit disturbing. He was channeling his inner Snidely Whiplash when he chained the guy to the railroad tracks. He also impaled the bad guys hand with an arrow.

The cop figured out his secret identity already? That was fast.

Are there reasons why he isn't referred to as Green Arrow on the show yet?

So I guess that stepdad finding the salvaged yacht means that Oliver's mom knew where Oliver was for at least some of the five years he was missing.

My guess is since it isn't necessarily following the comics, they wanted to differentiate this story from that one. Just a guess though.

The salvaged yacht was a surprise to me, did not see that coming.

I think you're meant to be disturbed. Ollie himself told Diggle that he needs Diggle's moral compass. Part of the dramatic tension of the show is between law and justice; I think Ollie will represent justice and Diggle law.
That won't (can't) last. Ollie will find a way to "prove" he's not the Arrow, which will leave the cop knowing but not "knowing."

I approve, however, of the show's willingness to let people learn things. Too many shows maintain the status quo by having the characters become increasingly stupid.
I think "Green Arrow" is just too corny for the tone they're going for.

I blame Seth Rogan for ruining the whole "Green" thing.

    Shoutouts this week include:

    Bludhaven
Andy Diggle (Of course Diggle's brother is named Andy.)
Iron Heights Prison (although I thought that this was in Central City).

This show is completely awesome so far- it has far exceeded expectations.

Like Homeland, I love how, at least so far, they aren't messing around by dragging story lines out- it would take most shows 2 seasons to move forward as much as this one has in just 4 episodes.

Hopefully they can maintain this excellence over the rest of the season.

Yeah. Is that buddy of Laurel in her office supposed to also be a states attorney? Wearing that crotch level skirt?

Laurel isn't a state attorney...she works for some kind of do-gooder outfit.
