*For you* it wouldn't compare, but for me it would. As I have said, most of what I record IS from the major networks, and the *other* network's shows are repeated multiple times within the day/week (not just HBO, even things like Discovery & Comedy Central).

So for me it would be good..

Are you sure? It's not that you really only have 3 tuners except for the time period where they record all the OTA networks together it's that those recordings can not be kept long term. Not sure the exact time period but I think it is like only a week or so.

Again, I have no PERSONAL experience with this, but you CAN save them out of PrimeTime Anytime. I emailed with one of the Engadget HD guys when he did his review.

AFAIK, it's still basically "manual", not like a Season Pass.. But you can "save" a show out of PrimeTime Anytime, and then it is copied or whatever into the rest of your storage space.

At the time I asked about it, you COULDN'T add padding, but the Engadget HD guy confirmed that Dish said this was a bug that SHOULD work. In other words, IMHO, PTA also 'solves' the zillion-tuners-because-of-necessary padding issues, for OTA channels.. at least it will after this bug is fixed if ever.
