Oh, I'm always OK with Carrie Underwood. But she really should not do slow sad ballads.

The show is on CBS so of course that have to say that Dean Norris is from "Under the Dome" rather than "Breaking Bad".

I'm enamoured of Kerry Washington, but all the Twitter anger that she didn't win for "Scandal" is silly. The show is an over-the-top soap. She chews the scenery beautifully, but it's still scenery.

The intros for the comedy writers are almost always hilarious. Loved the NSA surveillance.

I thought Canevale was terrific in Boardwalk Empire. I can see that. I'mnot sure who Aaron Paul is, but I thought Dinklage was dialed back a bit this year. Less screen time.

I looked him up, Breaking Bad, I guess he's in. I watch a season or so, and didn't like it. Outside of Brian Cranston, I have no idea who the other actors are. I think the dude in Under The Dome was from that show too, right?

Nope, there's enough choreography on TV nowadays that they can have an award.

And call me an old fogey, but I love dance performances, and that number was fun!

Nice to see Stephen Colbert accept as himself and not in character.

I think they're okay with meth, considering his three straight wins.

I have an idea for column - Idiot of the Day. Today's idiot would be Don Cheadle (although I know he didn't write the speech) - His comments on the Kennedy assassination and the national grief, and he then says about the Beatles appearance on Ed Sullivan - It was almost as though the dark cloud that had hung above us for 79 days was suddenly lifted...and it was OK to experience joy again. What total crap. 73 million people (maybe a third of the country) may have watched the show, most of them tuned in because they watched Ed Sullivan every week, and a great many of those watching hated what they saw and thought it was the beginning of the downfall of western civilization. The idea that the Beatles appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show was some sort of national collective healing process earns Don Cheadle the Idiot of the Day Award.

He's not the first person who's said that, and a lot of people felt it was a turning point in how the country started to recover. I think you are really minimizing this. I think Ed Sullivan's ratings for that week went up, so I don't think it was JUST Ed Sullivan fans watching.

There was also a point about it being a changing point where more people got news from TV than newspapers. Somehow, I doubt it happened at THAT point. But maybe it did.

    A) Don Cheadle didn't write that. He just read the teleprompter.
    B) I don't give much credence to anyone who has or would have had the utterly ludicrous opinion that the Beatles were "the beginning of the downfall of western civilization."

I've heard that about the 1960 Election and John Glenn's space walk but really I think it's about the ear, early 1960s
