This is service by Cox - Orange County.
Like to see if anyone else had had this issue before the tech shows up.
I have a series III and just bought a new Roamio for a second device. Of course they both have cablecards & tuning adapters. After much hassle tyring to get the Roamio running, it turns out that only one tuning adapter at a time will function (connected to either unit) but when attaching a second one, the amber light just blinks continually. Also it seems that to have one of the TAs working, the other TA has to be completely disconnected (like from the cable), not just have the power off.
I suspect when the tech comes tomorrow he'll say, like they always do, that the old cable inside the walls isn't good enough to carry a good enough signal to 2 tuning adapters.
.....update..all of a sudden both TAs are working.....
Only problem is one of them doesn't get channel 310 which in the past just takes a new pairing from cox. This time it didn't work so the tech is still coming out.
I'd still like to hear if anyone else had these issues since problem usually don't go away.

Just recently moved from one house in San Juan Capistrano to another and added a Roamio, for a total of three Tivos and TA's...I have no problem with the TA's now, but the key with the installer and the help desk, is that they must have all THREE serial numbers (found in CablecardMenu>Cablecard pairing...the Cablecard ID, Host ID and Data #...my installer (the second one) knew that this was the problem and sure enough, it was...hope this helps...I'm having a hell of a time setting up a MOCA network, if anyone reads this please message me or post??

if you have to call anyone at Cox regarding cablecards, don't waste a breath phoning any number besides the one found on this page:

after four hours of pointless communication with CSR's in Ohio, San Diego, Arizona, etc., I found this number by accident.
The Cox reps in all those cities told me this department, the cablecard specialist department, didn't exist.
It does, and they are the only ones who have proven to me they actually know how to activate and pair a card with a TA and a TiVo.

oh, and they all say "TiVo? Do people still use those"
